Root Cause to Results: Growing a Better Plan of Correction

When:  May 7, 2026 from 13:00 to 14:30 (CT)
From Root Cause to Results: Growing a Better Plan of Correction

From Root Cause to Results: Growing a Better Plan of Correction takes a real-world look at how skilled nursing leaders can move beyond writing Plans of Correction that simply meet requirements and start creating changes that actually stick—plans that don’t just get written, but take root in daily practice.

We’ll start by planting the seeds—walking through how to read your cover letter, understand key timelines, and break down the CMS-2567 so you’re clear on what’s actually being cited and what needs to be addressed.

From there, we’ll focus on growing stronger plans—avoiding common pitfalls, not over-promising, choosing interventions that make sense in real life, and building monitoring strategies that don’t fall apart two weeks in (including a look at where AI might help—and where it won’t).

We’ll close with how to keep compliance in full bloom—what happens after the plan is accepted, how documentation and audits actually support (or sabotage) your efforts, and how to carry changes forward so you’re not back in the same spot next survey.

You’ll leave with practical strategies you can use right away to strengthen your plans, carry them into daily practice, and avoid slipping back into the same patterns after survey.
