Clinical Quality Specialist – Skilled Nursing

PURPOSE:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·        Initiate Quality Assurance activities including development of Performance Improvement Plans

·        Understand CMS Quality Measurement system and implement Initiatives aimed at improvement

·        Oversight and development of assigned KPI’s

·        Assist with the orientation and training of new nursing line staff and nursing management staff

·        Ensure compliance with all CMS, WI DQA, and other regulatory bodies

·        Develop and implement staff training programs regarding regulatory compliance, documentation, fall prevention, etc.

·        Assist in the evaluation and effectiveness of quality initiatives

·        Supervise and develop educational programs in accordance with state and national regulations

·        Oversight of Clinical Reimbursement process including Minimum Data Set submissions as needed

·        Maintenance and implementation of the organization's policies & procedures.

·        Serve as Skilled Nursing Interim Director of Nursing as needed

·        Other duties as assigned

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·        Frequently lifts and carries equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds.

·        Frequently twists, stoops, bends; occasionally kneels, squats, climbs stairs; frequently reaches at, above or below shoulder height

·        100% of work day is spent indoors, 10% of work day is spent standing, 5% walking, and 85% sitting

·        Must be able to communicate orally and/or in writing with residents, coworkers, families, and public

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

·        Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin

·        Extensive knowledge of skilled nursing facility regulations

·        Working knowledge of MDS submission process 

·        Follows/adheres to organization, federal, and state regulations and guidelines, including Resident/Client rights

·        Maintains neat, well-groomed appearances, adhering to dress code of organization/program
